Avocado
The avocado sector has become a significant contributor to Kenya’s economy, with room to grow. We cover the whole value chain, from soil preparation and planting to harvesting, post-harvest handling and market opportunities.
Hass and Fuerte are the most common and commercially viable varieties, particularly for export. Smallholder farmers play a major role in the sector, and global demand for Kenyan avocados has been rising.
Mango
Mango farming in Kenya can be a profitable venture. It does well across diverse regions when it has proper management, suitable varieties, and attention to climate and soil conditions.
